Glam Travel: Surviving the Dominican Republic
Hot AF! Hair Frizzed & Paranoia all mixed in is not a good feeling!!!! Straight off the plane I felt instant stress, customs, buying alcohol DUTY FREE, standing in line, and the workers touching my bags asking do I need a ride!!! OMG! Let me breathe! I kept thinking, “Lord please let us make it, Let us be safe God, PLEASE!”
The two weeks leading up to the trip was a hot mess!!!!! 8 people in a group, the media, and concerned friends and family. The media plays a lot of games with the thought process of the human brain. Our group went from positive and fun, to screenshots of American Dies in Dominic Republic, American Drowns, American…. American …DIES … Dominic Republic!!!! Our group starts to fall apart quickly!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 of the 8 is like oh well we are still going! We paid we going!
I began to watch travel vlogs of current people in the DR, my friend kept watching Trip Advisor and the Resort Reviews. We called to see if we could book another room, it was BOOKED! So that meant everyone is still traveling to this Beautiful place! Beyond the madness and the concerns, 7 of the 8 boarded the flight!
We had a list of things we WERE NOT going to do:
Drink from the mini bar
Go off the resort
Don’t drink the water
Do not Rent a Car
Trust the food
Before leaving I made sure Glam Girl Ashley had my hotel info, flight info, travel insurance plan, what’s app, shared my location, and she knew to grab all my electronics, phone, go-pro, camera, all SD Cards, because I would be documenting it all if something was to go down.

We stayed at Now Onyx Resort, which is connected to the Breathless All Inclusive Adult Resort. We had access to both properties which was really nice. Honey, WE LIVED OUR BEST LIFE!
I really want to say, Punta Cana is a beautiful place and I felt no presence of evil, hurt, harm, or danger when I arrived to my Resort. I felt loved, wanted, and was treated like a family member. Even though English was not their first language, they made everything we needed happen! After the second day there were no more rules! We enjoyed ourselves so much. We ate, we drank, we beached, we swam, we even did an excursion off property! We learned new words, and phrases in Spanish, was it appropriate? We don’t know, we were just saying what the locals taught us, they smiled and made us feel as if we were family.
Did I mention we partied??? Yes HONEEYYY, PARRRRR-TAYYYYEEEDD! Foam parties, to the locals putting on B2K concerts, it was something every night! Even though me and my crew were OLD AF going to bed, just know it was possible for you to be up alllllll night til 3am! We loved every moment. I hope you enjoy the pictures and the Vlog for a sneak peak of the D.R.!
Please ladies and gentleman travel and live life! You have to block out the noise. Do you know how many Americans die in America everyday, at the hands of our own people, own law enforcement, do you know how many robberies go down, how many predators and rapist harm our children here in America??? So why would you be scared to travel to a place where supposedly 8 Americans died over the course of a year? How many people die in your local surrounding areas a day????
Glam Dolls no need to fear, Surviving the Dominic was easy and fun! Have fun and live your best life!
